Two much-loved chocolate bars recalled over fears they contain 'small stones' (2025)

One of Britain’s favourite chocolate bars has issued an urgent recall for two flavours for fear the bars might contain ‘small stones’.

Tony’s Chocolonely, sold in supermarkets across the UK, claims to be the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products.

Customers who bought the Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar have been urged to return them to supermarkets to get a full refund.

The company said the risk of ‘small stones’ in the bars is small but has nonetheless recalled bars out of an abundance of caution.

‘We are extremely sorry to have to issue this recall, and for the inconvenience that this will cause people who purchased these products,’ Tony’s Chocolonely said.

‘Whilst the probability of a product being affected is low, we always put the safety and satisfaction of our consumers first and that is why we have made the decision to recall these products.’

Lot codes 62633, 162614, 163061, 4331, 4332, and 4333 are all being recalled.

The Dark Almond Sea Salt bars with best-by dates of February 28, 2026 and April 2, 2026, should be returned.

And the Everything Bars with best-by dates between November 26 and 28, 2025, should be returned.

A food recall is when potential contamination is identified in a product.

The affected product or products are then withdrawn from shelves and recalled from customers when there is a possible risk to consumer health.

The warning comes hours after Sainsbury’sissued a warning after a popular chocolate bar could contain pieces of metal.

The supermarket giant hasrecalledthe Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Belgian milk chocolate honeycomb pretzel as it could be unsafe to eat.

And yesterday, a brand of popular holiday crisps loved by Brits was recalled over allergy fears.

Fans of Ruffles Sabor a Jamon Crisps will be disappointed to know there’s a recall due to unlabelled allergens, which could be life-threatening to some.

The product contains milk and soya, which was not disclosed in English on the packaging. The areas affected are inNorthern IrelandandScotland.

Anyone who bought the popular crisps and suffers from an allergy is being urged to not eat the product, and instead, return it to the store where it was bought for a refund.

Lidl also issued a recall for a brand of BBQ porkscratchings due to possible salmonella contamination.
